LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT & ORGANIZATIONAL PARTNERSHIPS
Leadership development should meet the organization it is intended to serve
Every organization is shaped by its own history, culture, relationships, pressures, and possibilities. Meaningful leadership development begins by understanding the environment in which people are leading and the capacities the organization is seeking to strengthen.
Through Original HMSV Coaching, I partner with HR leaders, CEOs, and GMs to design leadership-development experiences grounded in the organization’s context. Together, we clarify what is happening, who the development is intended to support, and what meaningful progress would look like.
Ways to develop leadership capacity
An engagement may centre on one of these approaches or bring them together in response to the organization’s context, participants, and purpose.
Leadership-development programs
Programs may combine facilitated learning, reflection, dialogue, and practical application in a single workshop or across a longer engagement.
Coaching skills for leaders
Practical programs help leaders strengthen their capacity to listen, ask meaningful questions, support learning, and hold more thoughtful developmental conversations with the people they lead.
Leadership coaching integrated with development
Individual coaching alongside a shared program gives participants a confidential space to explore how the learning applies within their own roles, relationships, and leadership challenges.
Established and custom-designed programs
Some organizations are looking for an established program with a clear curriculum and defined learning experience. Others need something designed around their particular culture, leadership context, priorities, or moment of change.
The Coaching Clinic™
The Coaching Clinic™ is a practical program designed to develop on-the-job coaching skills for managers, supervisors, and leaders. As a Coach U Licensed Facilitator, I can deliver the program as a two-day learning experience or in modules over time.
The Coaching Clinic™ may stand alone or form part of a broader leadership-development engagement that combines group learning with individual coaching.
The Coaching Clinic™ is owned by Coach U, Inc. and delivered under licence by Joanne Peck.
Custom-designed programs
Custom programs are built around the capacities the organization wants to strengthen. Themes may include human-centred leadership, coaching skills, emotional intelligence, communication, navigating change, or other priorities identified through initial conversations.
The design may bring together facilitated learning, assessment, coaching, reflection, and practical application. Format, pace, and depth are shaped around the participants and intended outcomes.
Learning continues beyond the workshop
A workshop can open new perspectives, introduce practical skills, and create a shared language. Applying that learning continues as leaders return to full calendars, established patterns, competing demands, and real relationships.
When leadership development includes coaching, participants gain a confidential space to reflect on what they are noticing, experiment with new approaches, and consider how the learning applies within their own roles and context.
Coaching can help bridge the distance between understanding an idea and living it in practice.
Assessment as a starting point for inquiry
Where useful and mutually agreed, a leadership-development engagement may incorporate the EQ-i 2.0®, EQ 360®, or WE-I Profile to deepen self-awareness and inform development.
Used thoughtfully, an assessment opens a conversation. It can help participants notice patterns, consider their impact, and make more intentional choices within the context of their leadership.

Delivery
Engagement design and investment
Leadership-development programs may be delivered via Zoom, in person, or through a hybrid of the two.
For organizations within the Greater Toronto Area, in-person and hybrid arrangements may be available depending on location and scheduling. Outside the GTA, Zoom is generally the most practical option, although in-person delivery and associated travel arrangements can be discussed.
An engagement may range from a focused workshop to a longer program incorporating facilitated learning, coaching, assessment, and opportunities for practical application.
Following initial conversations, I provide a proposal outlining the recommended scope, format, timing, fees, and next steps. Fees for in-person delivery may reflect travel time, and any additional travel or accommodation costs are discussed and agreed upon in advance.
Begin with what matters now
Whether you are planning a defined initiative or responding to an emerging need, we can begin with the challenge or opportunity in front of your organization.
From there, we can discuss a focused workshop, an established program, a custom-designed experience, coaching support, or a combination of approaches.
