ABOUT JOANNE PECK
Business experience. Coaching depth.
A deeply human approach.

I am an executive and leadership coach, mentor coach, facilitator, and leadership-development practitioner. Through Original HMSV Coaching, I work with individuals, leaders, professional coaches, and organizations seeking to meet complexity with greater presence, awareness, discernment, and intention.
My approach brings together more than 2,500 hours of coaching experience, a practical understanding of organizational life, and an enduring curiosity about what helps people reconnect with their own capacity, humanity, and voice.
I know what it is to work hard, achieve results, and still feel disconnected from what mattered to me. That experience brought me to coaching and continues to ground a conviction at the heart of my work:
We bring the whole of who we are into every part of our lives, including how we lead.
A career that fed my mind—and questions I could no longer ignore
Before moving into coaching full-time, I built a career in business and leadership. I held the Chartered Professional Accountant designation for 24 years, from 2001 to 2025, and worked in leadership roles across a diverse range of industries. That experience gave me a practical understanding of organizational life and the responsibilities leaders carry.
I understand the pressure of making consequential decisions with incomplete information, navigating competing priorities and changing expectations, and holding the tension that can arise between caring for people and delivering results. I also understand how easily the human experience can become obscured by roles, responsibilities, measures, and demands.
My career engaged and challenged me intellectually. Yet over time, I became increasingly aware that it continued to feed my mind while my heart, spirit, and voice were asking something different of me.
That recognition emerged gradually through questions I could no longer set aside:
What matters to me now?
Who am I becoming?
What would it mean to listen more fully to myself?
What might become possible if I chose differently?
I began my coach training in 2016 and moved into full-time coaching in 2017.
In 2021, I founded Original HMSV Coaching—Heart, Mind, Spirit, Voice—as an expression of what had become central to both my work and my life: a belief in the originality, resourcefulness, creativity, and capacity of every person.
Presence as a practice of returning
My relationship with presence is grounded in humility. Alignment can be found, lost, and found again.
I know what it is to lose touch with myself amid competing responsibilities, uncertainty, and the demands of everyday life—and to look outside myself for certainty. I also know the experience of finding my way back to what matters, what I know, and how I want to choose.
Presence, as I understand it, is a continuing practice of noticing, listening, and returning—to ourselves, to one another, and to the situation before us.
I believe people need spaces where they can set down the pressure to perform and the expectation that they must always appear certain, competent, or composed. Spaces where they can think aloud, explore what is not yet clear, question familiar assumptions, and be met with curiosity and respect.
Creating that kind of relational space is at the heart of my work.
What it is like to work with me
I bring curiosity, kindness, grace, humour, and a willingness to remain present to what is emerging—including what may be uncertain, uncomfortable, or still taking shape.
I approach each conversation with respect for each person’s authority over their own experience. I seek to create a space where people can hear themselves more clearly, explore what is emerging, reconnect with what they know, and recognize the choices available to them.
I remain a learner within this work. My thinking continues to deepen through coaching, mentor coaching, facilitation, continued study, reflection, conversation, and lived experience.
That continuing inquiry is also informing the Architecture of Presence™—a framework I am developing through Original HMSV Coaching to give shape to how I understand and approach coaching.

Starting a conversation
Choosing a coach or development partner is a personal decision.
Experience and credentials matter. So do trust, connection, and the sense that this may be a space where you can think openly and be fully yourself.
If something in my story or approach resonates with you, I would be glad to explore whether working together feels like the right fit.
